Bella Tonkonogy is Associate Director, Climate Finance. She holds a leadership role in the Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance, supporting the development and launch of innovative climate finance instruments. She oversaw the renewal of the Cities Climate Finance Leadership Alliance and continues to drive its activities towards scaling finance for cities. Her research has focused on blended finance and on the broader alignment of financial institutions with long term climate goals. Bella previously oversaw energy and environment investments in emerging markets at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. She has an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management, an MSc from Imperial College London, and a B.A. from the University of California-Berkeley.
